About
Welcome to Color Me Social where entrepreneurs, independent professionals and small business owners get help using social media AKA social networking for profit and growth. We know you’ve been hearing about how you should “jump” into using social media but we say:
Wait just a minute!
Like any business tool, social media should be used in a strategic, purposeful way that connects you with the right people, in the right place, for the right reasons. And that’s why we’re here.
How We Can Help
As an entrepreneur, you are the heart and soul of your business. While it may feel sometimes like you’re flying solo, you are not alone. We are Karen and Paula Batchelor, social media managers, former solopreneurs – now sisterpreneurs! We are Baby Boomers who did not grow up with technology so we have a unique perspective on how understanding Web 2.0 and social media can feel like learning another language. If that’s how it seems to you, we are here to help – As your partners and guides to making the world of social media work for you.
Our Professional Background
Karen
I’m a licensed attorney, former corporate exec and lobbyist, now certified life coach and social media manager. Social media is a natural extension of my existing networking skills and a tremendous opportunity for me to continue to evolve as a Baby Boomer “techie”. I’m active on social networks, blog and coach entrepreneurs on social media strategy and implementation.
Paula
I’m a midlife mommy of a 6 year old and college professor with extensive experience in graphic design, project management, computer technology and software training. Social media management allows me to put my skills and experience to work helping entrepreneurs and small businesses use social media to reach out to and grow their target audiences.
Our Mission To make the second half of our lives the best half and to inspire and enrich the lives of others along the way.
Something You May Not Know About Us Karen is an accomplished genealogist having traced our family history back to the early 17th century. Her book, 50 Ways To Have An Amazing Life After 50, contains inspiration for making the second half of life the best half. And she really doesn’t like spiders! Paula, on the other hand, absolutely hates green peas. She has written and illustrated a book with her daughter promoting positive self-esteem for little girls. Paula bakes the best apple cake you’ve ever tasted and she’s a lifelong Detroit Tigers’ baseball fan. Recently these “sisterpreneurs” were featured in Money Magazine and on CNN.
