If you’re reading this site, you probably already know what Twitter is, and you’re probably familiar with the fact that it can be used as a powerful marketing tool. A lot of people get overwhelmed by Twitter, and they just don’t know how to get started. It’s really not so hard if you keep a few simple things in mind.
Set Some Goals
Before you set up your Twitter account, take a minute and think about how you want to use it. Do you want to make friends with influential people in your niche? Do you plan to promote your website with it? Do you plan to use it for market research? If you have multiple goals for a single Twitter account, make sure those goals don’t interfere with one another. If, for example, you want to promote two different websites with two completely different audiences, you’re probably going to want to set up two different accounts rather than trying to do both on the same account.

Group buying has exploded in the social media market place, where a company offers a deal or coupon each day to its network or followers. Groupon has become the largest of these companies, though the idea is not new, Amazon was trying this same thing back in 2002. Groupon deals are available in large market cities world wide. Groupon has recently partnered with Twitter in a new campaign which is called @EarlyBird deals. Groupon also has a site for users to subscribe, through this they can personalize each individual member to receive discounts based on their likes and interests. Last week Groupon introduced it’s first nationwide discount, in partnership with the GAP, everyone received a 50% off Groupon, this turned out to be a huge success. Read more
